Just Registered GiftCertificate.Pro and the plural!
Where can you hand register a high value domain other than the .pro extension. Registration has been ramping up huge with encirca's recent 2.99 sale that even facts.pro can't really compete with. However, the sale should be ending soon and I guess that means it's back to business as usual and we expect to see the quantity of .pro domains drop down to a more regular pace.
When you thought there isn't any really good drops or deals out there in .pro they just keep popping up. Found a great site that I'd like to develop for gift certificate.pro and it turns out both the plural giftcertificates.pro were both available. It may be my last purchase at these exceptionally low first year registration rates, but I have to say after my recent buying spree over this holiday season it would be ok to slow down a little.
The auction results as well as the recent purchase of the .pro registry by Afilias has certainly kept me from even entertaining low ball offers these days. Few should question the potential for the .pro extension as things should continue to ramp up either through development of new .pro domains or future auctions and resales. If you're planning on selling your hand registered .pro's for less than 1,500 you may want to think twice as aftermarket sales could easily rocket up a notch from here as there are few single word marketable .pro domains left.
Start Developing Your .Pro domains!
Why sell your domains for anything less, when i've seen .pro domains achieving good serp's and high ranking on Google. Just because there is currently lack of news with the transition to the new owner of the .pro registry is not reason to not be excited about the prospects as they have never been better. The registrants have been surging and as far as we can tell people and business have been registering .pro domains throughout the world as many french and russian words have been getting taken.
Value in Domaining..Buying domains at the right time!
With the aftermarket picking up and more speculators catching the news of .pro popularity this is no time to sell. However, from the buyers perspective or if you are interested in .pro domains at the lowest price ever, than this is the perfect opportunity to start making offers on .pro's that you may have overlooked thinking that it would not benefit your company at the time. There are a ton of people holding .pro domains for many years and I'm willing to bet many are willing to deal. In most cases throwing some moderate money at current domain holders could bring some sales depending on who you are contacting.
Seasoned .pro domainers who have really good domains probably won't sell for less than fair market prices. I expect that it will become exceedingly more difficult to get domains over the next year as news starts coming out, let along the possibility of some increase in professional domain marketing on the part of the new ownership.
Frequency of .pro sales are picking up a bit as we just learned that telephone.pro sold for 1,500 bucks that is a decent sale but in light of the previous reasons above, could have been on the lower side of what the domain could have been sold for.
All in all it continues to be a great time to register and hold on tight to your domain portfolio as in the next few months until we see some continued marketing efforts on part of the registry that will hopefully improve with the new ownership change. It's an exciting time for anyone who has been involved with professional .pro domains over the last few years and have built portfolios within this extension. Good things are yet to come!
